An artistic projection on the pipes of the Can Balaguer organ opening the ceremony in which Jaume Plensa was named Ambassador of Palma on 1 December 2025.
I want something like thisThe ceremony
On 1 December 2025 Palma City Council named sculptor Jaume Plensa Ambassador of Palma, in the Music Room of Can Balaguer, as part of the city’s bid for European Capital of Culture 2031. The ceremony opened with live music and an artistic projection on the organ pipes.
An instrument as a surface
Organ pipes are a tricky surface: narrow, curved and at different heights. The content is designed on their silhouette so the light travels along each pipe with the music, without touching or altering a historic piece.
