Videomappingin Mallorca
We turn façades, stages and walls into made-to-measure screens. From Palma, anywhere on the island.
What is video mapping?
Video mapping is the technique of projecting videos onto buildings, structures or objects, prepared to fit that exact surface. Every element of the construction is taken into account to create a sense of movement, depth and realism.
It is produced with 3D and post-production software and can be projected onto any object, structure or surface. The result takes the audience to any setting imaginable.

What a good mapping needs
Every surface is different, but these factors decide the result and we assess them on the technical visit:
- Darkness
- Mapping is projected light: outdoors it starts at dusk and, where possible, the street lighting on the façade is switched off. Indoors, the lights must be dimmed and outside light blocked.
- Projection power
- What matters is the light reaching each square metre. A dim indoor wall needs few lumens; a large city-centre façade with light pollution needs far more powerful projectors or several at once.
- The surface
- Light, matt stone or concrete is ideal. Brick, wood or dark materials absorb light and need more power; glass scatters the image, so windows are masked in black.
- Multiple projectors
- On large surfaces projectors are combined: their images are joined (edge blending) and the geometry corrected so they read as a single projection.
- Distance and position
- Projectors need a stable, clear position facing the surface, on a tower, truss or scaffold, above the audience and protected from rain.
- Sound
- Music and sound effects are part of the show: without good synchronised sound, a mapping loses half its impact.
Phases and timing
This is how we produce a mapping from start to finish:
- Technical visit: we measure the surface, the ambient light and where the projectors will go.
- Modelling: we build the surface in 3D so the content fits every window, cornice or relief.
- Script and storyboard: the story and pace of the show.
- Animation and music: 2D and 3D content and the soundtrack.
- Set-up, calibration and night-time rehearsals on site.
- Show and dismantling.
How far in advance?
As an industry reference, a simple mapping can be produced in about two weeks and a complex one, with a custom script and 3D animation, in a month or more. Permits come on top if it is projected in the street. The sooner you write to us, the more room there is for creativity and paperwork.
Permits to project in Palma
Projecting in public space requires authorisation. In Palma, using public space for an event is requested from the City Council (procedure “Alcaldía.01, occupation of public spaces for various reasons”) with a description of the activity, and it is refused if not requested at least 30 calendar days in advance.
The building owner’s permission is also needed, and using sound equipment outdoors requires authorisation under the noise bylaw. If the building is listed (Bien de Interés Cultural or catalogued), it is advisable to consult the Consell de Mallorca’s heritage department too. We help you prepare whatever your project needs.
What the quote depends on
Every mapping is quoted individually, based on the project’s needs. The main factors:
- Surface
- Size, shape and material of what is projected on.
- Projection
- Number and power of projectors for the surface and ambient light.
- Content
- Custom script, 3D animation and music, and the length of the show.
- Screenings
- Number of showings and days.
- Set-up
- Structures, rain protection, calibration and technicians.
- Paperwork
- Permits and venue requirements.

Video mapping FAQ
01What is video mapping?
Video mapping is the technique of projecting videos onto buildings, structures or objects, prepared to fit that exact surface. Every element of the construction is taken into account to create a sense of movement, depth and realism. It can take the audience to any setting imaginable.
02Which surfaces can you project onto?
Any object, structure or surface. We have created a 360º immersive mapping in Palma’s Plaza de la Misericordia, and projected onto scrims on concert and club stages, onto a hotel lobby wall (6 × 8 metres) and onto DJ screens and desks.
03What does a video mapping project include?
We handle it end to end: production & direction, custom script, 3d animation & special effects, surface mapping, interconnection system, transport, set-up & dismantling, specialist technician, music direction & production, sound equipment.
04What kind of events do you do mapping for?
Congresses & conventions, Trade fairs & exhibitions, Cultural & sports events, Product launches, Shows, Concerts. Also gala dinners, hotel parties and institutional events.
05Do you work all over Mallorca?
Yes. We are based in Palma and bring the equipment anywhere on the island: we have worked in Palma, Port Portals and other venues across Mallorca.
06Can a mapping be done in daylight?
It is not advisable: mapping needs darkness. Outdoors it is scheduled from dusk and indoors the space is darkened.
07What if it rains?
Projectors are protected with housings and covered structures, but rain darkens the surface and dulls the colours. Outdoors it is worth planning an alternative date or time.
08How long is a mapping show?
There is no fixed length: it adapts to the event, from a piece of a few minutes to a long show with several screenings.
09Do I need permits?
If it is projected in public space, yes: the City Council’s (in Palma, at least 30 calendar days in advance), the building owner’s and, if there is outdoor sound, noise authorisation. We help you with it.
10How do I get a quote?
Write to us or call Ángel with the venue, the date and the idea. Every mapping is designed for its surface, so we prepare a proposal for your project.
